Shoulder Press (Machine) - Male

Instructions

  • Sit on the machine and adjust the height so that the handles of the machine are level with your shoulders. 
  • Grasp the handles in both hands and press the weight up -- do not lock your elbows. 
  • Hold for one second and then return to starting position without setting down the weight or relaxing the muscle. Stay in control of the motion at all times. Repeat the exercise. 
  • Breathe with the motion - breathing out as you bring your feet back, in as you return to the starting motion.

Tip

Keep your back straight against the backrest during the exercise -- avoid leaning back or forward. Do not arch your back.
